Appearance:
Jake is quite the intimidating fellow what with being about 62 with a toned pair of biceps and fairly broad shoulders. When he was younger, around 13-15 years of age, he was more of a lanky little boy. After that night of trying to punch his father and all those other nights hed received beatings, he decided to change that at the age of about 16. He began to go to the gym at least three times a week and made great progress over the years. He is very watchful of what he eats, though that doesnt mean he can put away some food. He loves to eat and loves all different kinds of foods.
His hair is a brownish-color, sometimes he'll dye it black just for the fun of it. It's always about three inches long, usually spiked up slightly, but not so that it's stiff and looks like he put pounds of gel in it. Other times when it grows out enough he'll have it so that it falls just above his eyes. He almost always has facial hair. He has a small beared on his chin that is always neatly trimmed so that it's noticible, but not so noticible that it's the first thing you see when you look at his face. He also has a small mustache that is also trimmed nicely.
He has a tattoo of a crown on the left side of his neck. He got it right after his father died. It's supposed to show that he was the 'king'. Conceited, I know, but that's just how Jake is. I guess you could say that he got it for his father. It's the only thing that reminds Jake of him.
Personality:
Jake can come off as a jack ass when you first meet him, especially if he thinks youreFacially challenged. Yes he can be very shallow. He tries to stay away from those who werent blessed with a beautiful face like his. If he isnt fond of your face then he makes it pretty obvious with his facial expressions. His most famous ones are the what the hell?, why are you talking to me?, and the blunt youre ugly as hell. Most of those come with the nose scrunch that most people find incredibly adorable. If the looks dont get through to your head then hell use words as his last resort.
On top of being shallow, Jake is a tad bit confident. Some people believe its a turn off but Jake doesnt give a crap. He hates it when people judge him just because hes over confident and dont even bother to get to know him. Theres hardly ever an instance where you see Jake being insecure about himself. Insecure probably isnt even in his vocabulary. Plus you would need an infinite amount of confidence to do the things that Jake does.
Sometimes when someone meets a person, they get a feeling determining whether theyll like that person or not. Well if Jake gets the feeling that hes not going to like you, or if you make a bad first impression with him, hes done with you. Out pokes his horns and he can be the meanest person in the world to you. If you say something that annoys him hell gladly tell you to shut up, or just walk away while youre in the middle of a sentence. He really doesnt like it when people annoy him, so I suggest you dont do it. So what annoys Jake: People who walk so close to him that they constantly bump his arm, people who whine too much, wimps, and when people hang out with him just because hes rich. If you do any of the following upon meeting him then hell drop you like a hot potato.
You might want to keep youre distance if youre a Crypt. He is very hostile towards them, but why wouldnt he be? They are his rival. But really, he hates them with a passion and would have no problem with shooting one down just for the fun of it. Actually, hes pretty much like that with all of his enemies. He loves to fight and is pretty good at it. Hes got a huge temper so, staying on his good side is an excellent idea.
Dont let his arrogance, jack ass/mean nature discourage you from getting to know Jake because he really is a cool guy. Once you get passed the bad hardcore layer you get to know another side of Jake. You must be one lucky dude/dudette to be acquainted with Jake because hes one crazy cat. He loves to go wild with his friends; randomly shouting statements at people he doesnt know and pulling pranks at Walmart are his favorites. So heres a word to describe Jake: random. Dont be surprised if he all of a sudden asks you what song he should get off of Itunes or something like that. Its his way of getting through an awkward silence, or just a regular silence. He hates it when that happens and has to always have something to talk about or else hell get bored.
Jake is the kind of friend who is easy to talk to. If youve got a problem then Jake will definitely listen as long as you dont start whining about how horrible your life is. Then it might get ugly. But he gives great support for those that he cares about and will drop his shit in an instant and comfort you if you need it. He also has a way with cheering people up. It usually doesnt take much effort on his part either. Whether it be a funny face, a silly comment, or a crazy hand gesture, Jake can come up with something to put a smile on your face.
Jake knows how to party. He loves to go out to the club and tries to at least three times a week. Youll find him at his casino pretty often as well. Sometimes hell get completely wasted and others hell just have a couple drinks just to give him a little buzz. But thats pretty much all he needs because he doesnt drink that often. Whenever theres alcohol in his system, hes more likely to hook up. Usually when hes sober he doesnt date around that much and tries to stick with one person for a while instead of having some time limit on how long he should date them. But when hes wasted or theres alcohol in his system, he gets more and more sexual and usually ends up in someones bed.
Trust is an issue with Jake. He doesnt trust people too easily. Depending on the person, his trust for them might build after hanging out with them for a couple months or so, but theres always this small part of him that stays on guard. Mostly because he himself is pretty conniving. Excluding his gang members, you cant really trust Jake. Hes always looking to make situations to his advantage and will do anything to make it that way.

History:
Born right here in New York City, Jake Brookes had a pretty rough life. Ever since Jake was a small child, he hasn't been good enough for his father. No matter what Jake tried, his father was never satisfied. Sometimes Jake felt like his father was ashamed of his own son. His mother was--social; so he rarely ever saw her; this lead to Jake running away from home when he was about ten years old. But since he was so young, he didn't get too far and was soon taken back to his home to live with his father. To pass the time, Jake would often go swimming in the pool that was built in their backyard. It kept his mind off of his uncaring father and his, pretty much non-existing, mother. Back then he didn't have many friends, which explains why they're so dear to him now, so he spent most of his time in the pool alone. Jake's father had managed to hide the fact that he was an alcoholic for a few years until one stormy night.
His father had been drunk; a different side of Jake's father that he had never seen before, and began to get the lecture on how he'd never make anything of his life, would always be alone, and no one would ever care for him. By this time, Jake was 14 and perfectly capable to build up his courage and charge at his father, the anger from the past fourteen years releasing itself into one fierce punch. Though, Jake had underestimated his father in the drunken state that he was, and the punch was easily dodged.
Soon, Jake's arm was in the grasp of his father. Jake was dragged through the sliding screen door and out into the backyard. Jake struggled to get away from his father, kicking and screaming to do whatever he could to release himself from his father's grasp, but was soon silenced by a large flow of water that made its way into Jake's nose and mouth. The water forced itself down Jake's throat; every now and then his head would be yanked from the water to get some air, but immediately pushed back into the water.
After Jake's father got bored of these harsh actions, his foot hit hard against Jake's side, sending him into the water. By this time, the storm had gotten a lot worse than it was before. Lightning streaked the sky, thunder roared, the wind had picked up, and rain poured from the sky. Jake slowly sunk to the bottom of the pool. Willing himself to open his eyes, Jake pulled himself to the surface and doggy paddled towards the stairs leading to the safe, hard ground. There by the pool Jake stayed until morning.
As Jake grew up, he always had the memory of that night in his mind. The worst part was that he never even received an apology from his father. Once he was 17, he dropped out of High school. It never was Jakes thing. Dont get me wrong, Jake is very smart; but he was lazy. He never felt like doing the classwork or homework, he never raised his hand in class, and he was more interested in socializing than studying. And since his father didnt seem to care, Jake just stopped going after a while.
Jake knew that his father was involved in the gang business. When Jake was younger he wasnt really interested in getting involved in that kind of stuff. But after what Jake had been through with his father, he figured it would toughen him up a bit. After making this decision, Jake began going to the casino that his father owned on a regular basis. Despite their past, Jakes father showed him the ropes of the gang life and how to take care of himself. He taught him how to shoot a gun and how to fight. Basically, the gang was the only thing Jake could thank his father for. He felt like he could do anything with that kind of knowledge. Plus the gang gave him and his father to bond over, and it finally felt like Jake was doing something right.
But when Jakes father was killed one night in a car accident, it was time for Jake to put his knowledge to the test. He was the new leader of The Bloods, and he planned on doing an even better job than his father. Sure Jake misses him sometimes, but not often. So now that Jake is the leader of The Bloods, the gang can be taken onto a higher level, and cast more fear into its enemies than ever before.
